Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier each year, some may love it and some may hate it. However, with products in store as early as September it does mean that people can pace out their spending, meaning that they can get the gifts they need and not leave themselves poor in the month of December. A few years ago, the only place to pick up Disney Christmas Decorations was The Disney Store. However they were expensive and the ranges were usually limited. Then Primark began to sell Disney related items. From the brilliant Chip mugs and Cogsworth clocks came a series of merchandise that continues today. They also did something amazing, they released a set of glittery Mickey Head Baubles. These went down really well and it was difficult to get them nearer to Christmas. Then last year, they expanded their Disney Christmas range to include ceramic double sets of various Disney Characters. Primark continued the trend for this year and it seems their range is only going to get bigger! But what should I look out for in September?
Lets take a look at the best items for sale at Primark in September….
This list will be updated so please keep coming back. And Check out my Disney Twitter page @TheDisneyFan
Baubles
No double Primark will do a collection of Glittery Mickey and Minnie Heads, these are out every year. You can usually pick up Extra Large ones in packs of 1, Medium sized heads in sets of four, or mini ones which usually include Mickey hands, in a set of 6. These are usually £4 for the pack, regardless of which size you pick up.
Spinners
New items this year includes a spinner Bauble. These hanging discs have a 3D section in the middle that has a small character that spins. This range looks to be quite big and other than the Harry Potter ones, Disney have the majority of the range so far. There is, of course, a spinning Mickey head, then they have released an Alien head from Toy Story, the third release is Chip. Chip does look the best of all three. They are £5 each so are a perfect pocket money buy.
The Double Packs
Last year we had quite a few of these and Primark has already started pushing these out onto shelves. The ceramic Mickey and Minnie heads are back but this year they have Santa hats and accessories. Marie from The Aristocats also features in her own set, she features in a stocking in one of the ornaments. Stitch has a really sweet set, it features him and Angel. You can also pick up a Muppets collection. This one features Miss Piggy and Kermit and, due to the lack of adult Muppet product elsewhere, will almost certainly be the first to sell out. The Packs are £5 each. Other ranges released so far include ET and Where’s Wally?
Tinsel
Primark like to utilise the Mickey head on the majority of their Disney product. Whereas this can sometimes seen as too minimal, it is really subtle and actually stops things from looking tacky. The Disney Tinsel is available in a variety of colours and whereas Tinsel usually sports circles or stars, the extra pieces of foil are shaped in Mickey head shapes. They are £1.50 for a 2M piece.
Wreaths
One of my favourite items to come out of the Primark range so far is the Mickey Head Wreath. Traditionally round, the door wreath gets a new make over – Disney Style. The actual wreath is thin but that can make it stylish if you are going for a minimal look. Those who want a more bushy wreath could most likely add extra bits. The Wreath is £9.
Bauble Advent Calenders.
The Advent Calendar last year featured 25 different Mickey related Baubles that were revealed behind each door in this advent calendar. It is a really smart idea and worth the price when you add up how much this will cost individually. It is worth picking these up quickly as they sold out really quickly last year. They retailed at £10 last year and should do so again this year.
Princess Advent Calendar
A little bit different to the Mickey Bauble set, this £10 calendar only has 10 days but behind each door is a Disney Princess Bauble. These are really nice but for those who can afford it and would want to collect all the princesses, the range at ShopDisney is superior. With that being said, for £10 a cheap and cheerful product which will brighten up any Disney fan’s tree. These will be really good on a small 3FT tree that the children use.
Dumbo First Christmas
This looks to be a whole range so will be perfect for the little one’s first Christmas. So far fans can pick up a plaque. These plaques can be hung on doors or nicely over cots if the cot design allows. These are really sweet and as the plaques are usually £2.50 they are really cheap to pick up. The range also has a Snow Globe which looks lovely. These globes are usually £10 so there should be no difference as to why this one would be. It features a cute little dumbo with the words Baby’s 1st Christmas.
So, which item do you think sounds the best so far? Keep an eye out on my Twitter page for further updates. I have also set up a Disney Christmas Page that looks at some great products available now. It will also feature some posts on my different Christmas bits and you are all welcome to share.
