August at ShopDisney.co.uk

The Disney Store is beginning to wind down on its summer products and we will start to see some of the winter and Christmas stock arriving over the next few weeks. Traditionally, Christmas was confined to just December but now as soon as the kids go back to school, stores across the country start putting their summer stuff into the sale and bringing out the Christmas and Halloween products. So what does that mean for shoppers in the Month of August? Well, let’s check out the top 10 things to happen in stores… 10 – The Lion King With the release of the Live action film, stores across the country now have the majority of The Lion King range. From cushions, throws and plush, to toys, mugs and clothes, the store will have something for everyone. The store already had a good range of products for the film, so you can pick up mugs, baby clothes, plush and Tiny Big Feet from the stores. With the releases quite late in the quarter, the products will most likely begin to sell out the nearer we get to Christmas, so now is the time to grab anything you may want to gift to people. It also means that there will be little product left of this range to go into the Christmas and end of year sale so unless individual items go into an offer then bargains will be hard to come by. With this being said, if you spend more than £10, you can get a Simba or NAla plush for £12.50. These are available for most of the year so rarely go on an offer or sale. 9 –Disney Wisdom After the success of The Mickey Memories last year, Disney tried to replicate this with a Disney Wisdom Collection. Each month a plush, pin set, journal and mug are released and for August it is Bambi. The mug is by far the best item of the release as the colour scheme works bet, plus the pattern isn’t garish as it has been for some releases. In a few stores you can still pick up previous months’ products but Bambi is a firm favourite so this will not be seen for long. The products will be released on 18th August. 8- Dynamic Duos Fans could be mistaken into thinking that the Dynamic Duos release is just another copy of The Mickey Memories, most people are not aware of its existence. The range is part of a monthly Sketchbook ornament series and has been done a few times in the past. Bu the marketing around it is really bad. The Dynamic Duos release is a hanging ornament. The round glass bauble has small figures inside of a famous duo, the bauble is also decorated accordingly around the outside and had a message relating to the film and characters on the outside. The releases are really sweet and have given fans a chance to own something with some rarely used characters. August’s release is of Percy and Meeko from Pocahontas. The two are really sweet and the range has not failed yet. Fans can pick the new release up on 21st August online, but the last two releases from The Little Mermaid and The Fox and the Hound are still available online. 7 – Sale So the Mid-Summer sale is slowly winding down, you can still pick up the off party ware item or unusual sized clothing (Usually XS for men) but bargain hunters need not fear. The End of August should see an End of Season Sale, although this has sometimes started in September and hasn’t been confirmed. Items most likely to go into this assumed sale will be the swimwear, tee shirts and some of the unique items relating to a film release earlier this year. What you won’t see is anything from the recent ranges, so there won’t be any Aladdin, The Lion King or Toy Story products unless they are related to summer. The 30% off summer and outdoor toys is a good guide as to what will go in this sale, so it isn’t going to be brilliant for picking up some cheap early Christmas presents. However, they will make some nice little bits to put away for next year. 6 – Last Chance Online there is a section that has some Last Chance bargains. These are usually items that are not going to be restocked and have very low stock numbers. This offer changes every month and if there is something you see in this section then I would recommend picking it up as it could mean there is only one left in the warehouse. A good indication of how many is left is to look at the maximum order allowance as this is normally 20. Any lower than that and you have your stock numbers. Use the code LASTCHANCE20 to pick up an extra 20% off the price. Currently it is all sale items from the mid-season sale. 5 – Beanies There are two offers of the beanies and it really does depend on what you are going to spend and how many you want as to what the best route is. Online it is 30% off the price, making the majority of them £6.40. If you want a few then this is your best bet but the variety is limited. In stores, you can pick up a beanie for £5 when you spend over £10. Now the rule is it is one Beanie per £10, but some stores do allow you to pick up more than one and it really does depend on the person behind the till and the manager. Many want the talk ups so if you purchase 5 then it makes up for customers they missed earlier. 4 – Stationary and Bags In the run up to the kids returning back to School, Disney has a range of Stationary and bags with 20% off. This is a great purchase online at this time of year and allows you to pick up some of your favourite characters. These products are rarely in the stores long so if you do like something then pick it up. These types of products will go into the end of season sale, but not everything, so don’t just assume. Keen shoppers may spot some stationary in the sale within the stores but this is purely on a store by store basis. Another offer on stationary is the Pens and Pencils, these are on a 3 for 2 offer. 3 – DVDS and Blu-ray’s Many stores no longer stock DVDs and Blu-ray’s, the call for them couldn’t have been that big as the prices always seemed expensive compared to other stores. With that being said, The Disney Store has a ‘up to 50% off’ sale on selected DVDs and Blu-ray. There are some really good releases on there so make sure you check them out. Many have the shiny cases and are cheaper than amazon. 2 – Tiny Big Feet This is something the Disney Fan loves. The cute characters and the way they are designed are so cute. The offer of 4 for £12 is the best way to get these. With a newly released Aladdin Range at the end of July, Fans could be forgiven into thinking that there are too many of these released but it is roughly a range per month. August’s range is at the end of the month on the 30th and focuses on The Disney Dogs. The new range has some great products and I will be looking at those in another blog. My favourite from this range is the inclusion of Bolt and Doug (UP). The offer is still on, so head on over. Many stores have past releases so it is a good time to pick them up and include as stocking fillers. 1 – Shop Disney Can you believe that The Disney Store online changed to ShopDiseny a whole year ago.
